Apparently there is a letter going round the midweek teams offering a course on "Introduction to Umpiring", to be run by one of Scotland's leading umpires.I heard a suggestion that attendance should be made compulsory for certain individuals but the basic idea is to give voluntary finger waggers an opportunity to improve their skills for the coming season.
This is not a full umpiring course and I understand that the costs of participating will be extremely low. So it's worth watching this space...
